What SEND consultancy services do we offer to pupil referral units?

We offer bespoke SEND consultancy services to PRUs so we can meet a broad range of SEND. Our SEND consultants work on individual, targeted and whole school levels.

How do we work on an individual level?

Work on an individual level can take place directly and indirectly depending on the circumstances in place. Examples of work our SEND consultants can provide include:

• Individual case consultancy including education, health and care plans (EHCPs)
• Review of personal history
• Transitions
• Placements
• Assessment recommendations

Working on an individual level provides focused support for children and young people who may previously have unidentified needs. This focused support can be used to facilitate a transition to their original school.

How do we work on a targeted level?

Work on a targeted level in a PRU is bespoke to the needs within each setting. Targeted work can include interventions, reviewing provision implementation and working with parents and carers. Our consultants are adaptable to the needs in each setting, so can provide the targeted work needed in a PRU.

How do we work on a whole school level?

Taking a whole school approach to SEND consultancy facilitates short and long-term systemic change to benefit children and young people. Reviewing and adapting existing provision and policies supports early identification and intervention within PRUs. Our SEND consultants provide a broad range of whole school consultancy work, including:

• SEND surgeries
• Policies and procedures
• Differentiation
• Inclusion
• Training
