Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

All of our education and health professionals are members of professional bodies. Professional memberships include organisations which regulate professionals, and others which specialise in professional development.

NMC means 'Nursing and Midwifery Council'.

What is the NMC?

What does the NMC do?

The NMC has a register of all nurses and midwives eligible to work in the UK. To maintain your place on the register you must complete a process of revalidation which involves a set amount of practice hours, CPD and reflective practice. The NMC sets standards of training, education, performance and conduct for nurses and midwives in the UK to follow.
